Negation in Lao is straightforward: insert ບໍ່ (*bo*) immediately before the verb or adjective. Unlike English (which requires "do not", "does not", "did not"), Lao uses the same particle everywhere.
Caution: ບໍ່ has a homograph in the dictionary meaning "well, mineral mine" (ບໍ່ເງິນ, ບໍ່ຄຳ). The negation particle is distinct.
