To speak of what will happen, Lao places an auxiliary marker directly before the verb. The dictionary documents ຈະ (*cha*) as the formal, written auxiliary. In natural daily speech across Vientiane and Luang Prabang, people use ສິ (*si*).
Use ສິ in conversation. Expect ຈະ in formal writing, where the dictionary records it.
