A large tree with very hard wood, botanically named Phyllocarpus Septentrinalis Donn, in the Leguminosae family; it has a hard red core with red sap; small leaves about two fingers long, oval, with a sharp tip and green base. It prefers hot to warm weather. Another species has a buffalo-brown color, with light purple flowers. It is classified as a type of 'ໄມ້ດູ່'.
