ໄມ້ໄຜ່

A bamboo species with jointed stems and dense thorns, forming large clumps; it is a tough bamboo used for splitting into strips for tying things and weaving utensils such as 'ກະດົ້ງ' (basket), 'ກະບຸງ' (container), 'ກະສວຍ' (tray), 'ກະເຊີ້' (basket), 'ກະຕ່າ' (basket), 'ຂ້ອງ' (hanging basket). It has flat leaves on the branches. There are two types: village bamboo and forest bamboo.
