ໄມ້ແຕ້

A large hardwood tree; its core is yellowish-red. There are two types: thorny 'ແຕ້' and smooth 'ແຕ້'; the thorny type has thorny trunks and fruit, while the smooth type has no thorns, and its fruit is edible. With hard, beautiful yellow wood, it is expensive and used for making furniture and tools, lasting for hundreds of years.
