ງິ້ວ

A type of plant whose stem has no core; the inside of the fruit contains a light, white foam-like substance used for stuffing mats and pillows. Varieties include: white kapok or ງິ້ວຕ່ອງຕ້ອນ (thornless with green stem, also called ງິ້ວບ້ານ), ງິ້ວປ່າ or ງິ້ວໜາມ (a large tree with red flowers and thorns), and ງິ້ວຜາ (a wild variety similar to ງິ້ວໜາມ).
