ຂີ

A type of wild bamboo called 'mai phai khi'; also the fruit of the 'bong' tree, consisting of rice-like seeds. When this tree fruits, the plant dies; small mice that appear during bamboo fruiting are called 'nukhi' (anciently spelled 'khwi').
